Hello All and welcome to Readerbean's Kitchen (that's me - Beth)! I know there are a lot of food blogs out there so I thank you for following mine and I look forward to hearing suggestions, comments and ideas from everyone.
I thought I'd start off by showing you my kitchen. I live in New York City with my husband of almost 5 years. We moved here in the winter of 2007 and one of the reasons that we picked this apartment was because it had a functioning, good sized kitchen, which is rare in NYC.
Above is a view from our living room. Our appliances are top of the line, which I've also enjoyed!
To the left, is a picture of our very cool pantry (although the doors are closed because it's kind of messy in there - but you get the idea).
This kitchen is a pretty easy kitchen to keep clean and it's also a good kitchen to work in. I love the layout and I love that it's open to the living room so that when we entertain people and I'm in the kitchen cooking & prepping I don't miss out on all the fun!
So this food blog is going to be a journey - a journey to lose the 20+ pounds that I've put on in the first 5 years of our marriage, the journey to introducing new foods into my picky eater diet, to try new recipes, and then to eventually learn to maintain my weight.
Food journals are a very powerful tool to achieving weightloss success. I'm a visual person, I've never been one for writing in journals (I wish I was) it's just not visual enough for me. I have another blog that I've maintained for almost two years and I've really enjoyed writing, and looking back on all the things that I've done since moving to NYC, and I thought "I love blogging why not join the food blogging world."
So thanks for joining me on this journey and I promise to try and keep it exciting and fresh and full of new ideas for the everyday cook.
